Weekly Update 1

Weekly update.
Week 1:
This is the first week of year 13 and first week at the new Beyton campus.

I have completed an analysis of a music video for 1985 by the American rock band Bowling for Soup. I chose the video  as it parodies iconic videos from the time (1985).

Also this week I have completed a Prezi analysing in depth International Love by Pitbull and featuring Chris Brown. The Prezi is in the style of the world map in LED's which goes well with the video. This analysis is more in depth as the analysis links heavily to Goodwins 7, which shows the rules and  characteristics of music videos from genre to advertising.

Thats it for tho week

Stay classy :)

Analysis: Bowling for soup 1985

The music video is a performance video that shows the band performing in the garage to try and attract the attention of the lady across the street. The lyrics are focused towards the lady they are trying to attract the attention of. Each time the garage door closes then reopens, the band have changed costume to an iconic music video from the 1980s. The videos chosen by the band to replicate include Robert Palmer- Addicted to love, MC Hammer- Cant touch this, Van Halen- Jump.

The video begins with the band relaxing and doing no productive work when they see the lady across the street saying goodbye to her larger husband as he goes to work. While the band dress in the different music video parodies, we see the lady carrying out motherly chores including walking the dog and cleaning up children's toys in the garden.

Camera:
Opening shot- tracking of r/c car to show the band relaxing on the drive
