Ancillary task Launch Party Poster

The second ancillary task as well as the CD cover was to create a poster for the album launch party of the song. I am amazed at how the Poster has turned out and feel it looks majorly professional.

I decided to create a launch poster rather than a magazine advert for the whole album. I took the idea of an album launch poster from Lew Parker's Viva Brother video and poster.
The poster has a black block colour background and consists of one main image of the Scallop sculpture at Aldeburgh- where the launch party will be.
Although not music related, the idea of a launch party with such vague instructions came from the Forza Horizon Xbox Series. When you unlocked events at the Horizon festival, out posts would appear on the map, providing information for the next VIP event. This is similar to my poster in that the only people that will know about the event happening is those who are VIP'S or those who have followed the band constantly and know exactly where the filming location of the video was.

The poster itself shows the band logo in the opposite corners of the page. The gentlemen of the road logo - the bands own promotion company is situated central on the black background. The writing and information on the poster is in the same font as the CD cover- which is also included on the poster. All of the typeface is in white on the very dark background. This makes the writing stand out and also conveys the genre to the audience. At the bottom of the poster, there is the bands logo and the record label-universal- logo. Also the HMV and iTunes logo are shown to allow the audience to see where the EP can be purchased from.
